Professional Experiences

I was 19 years old when I was employed by the Henan Central Hospital for Traditional Chinese Medicine ( http://www.hnszyy.com.cn/) in Zhengzhou about two weeks after my graduation. This was one of the best provincial hospitals with modern equipments in Henan. I have worked in the Department of Osteology and the Department of Cancer. Because we were very friendly, kind and devoted towards our patients, we enjoyed full respect of our patients and a very good reputation among the locals.

In 1992, the Chinese modern history underwent one of the turning-points: Deng Xiaoping delivered his innovative theory "socialist free-market economy with Chinese characteristics" after his tour through south China, and he was known for the saying "it doesn’t matter whether a cat is black or white, as long as it catches mice". The consequence was: the Peoples Republic of China opened its door to the outside world.

Due to this reform, changes and dynamics in the Chinese society became obviously noticeable already at the beginning of the nineties. Those who took the first step to meet the challenges of social nobilities caused by this political reform were also able to afford a luxurious dwelling or sitting in a new splendid car and letting other people gaze with wonder.

I cannot tell exactly, how much effect such economical changes and the social dynamics had on me. But the belief that one should always strive for continuous improvement was firmly rooted in my mind. Indeed, in such a rapidly changing world, one should constantly try to move forward. Standing still is being left behind.
